GRAVYTY Productivity Power Hour Mix #51 - Funk Tuesday

Today, we're introducing you to Mix #51. Fat Tuesday is around the corner which means Mardi Gras celebrations will start too. Culturally, of course, this gives us a chance to highlight the incredible music that New Orleans is responsible for. It is a city known for its jazz roots, but more fundamentally, its use of brass and funk.

As a result, this week's playlist gives a fresh perspective to what we consider music native to the region. We explore New Orleans funk and the jazz stylings that inspired this new-age sound.  Many New Orleans funk artists draw on more classic jazz and blues tones to develop their sound but give it a unique, personal, and modern flavor. Brew yourself some Cafe du Monde, toss some gumbo on the stove, and have yourself a day.

We hope this list will motivate you for the next hour to help you do the best work of your life.

Did you miss last week's playlist? Don't worry - we've got you covered! Check out last week's Spotify mix: Presidential By Name. Since U.S. presidents don't exactly inspire much music, this playlist consists of songs featuring the last names of each president from Washington to Lincoln.
