    Intern spotlight: Introducing Pauline

Hi! My name is Pauline Chang and I am from Taipei, Taiwan, and California. I grew up calling both places my home, but I went to an international school in Taipei, which has allowed me to be exposed to a multitude of cultures at an early age. This fostered my love for traveling, and I try to explore a different country every year. I am a rising sophomore in the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, pursuing a dual degree in Advertising and Creative Writing. Ever since I wrote my first “book” at the age of four, I knew I wanted to be a writer. As I grew older, I cultivated my art skills along with my writing skills, specifically graphic design and digital art. My goal is to eventually enter the publishing industry, but I have also recently discovered my passion for advertising and marketing, which has only strengthened throughout my first year studying advertising, and has pushed me to look for professional opportunities in the field.

Although I haven’t had any real work experience before Gravyty, I took on many responsibilities in my university’s organizations. I was the creative director of two student advertising agencies, and am currently the publicity and recruitment chair for the cultural organization of which I am a member. Through these roles, I have learned a lot about how to create and promote content to entice viewers to either buy a product or join an organization.

Gravyty is my first internship, and I am excited to do as much as I can to make a positive impact on the company during my time here. I have some experience in marketing, but there is definitely a lot more for me to learn. I will be focusing on Gravyty’s social media and working on other marketing projects with the rest of the team. I joined Gravyty with little knowledge of startup businesses, so I also hope to learn about the inner-workings of startups. Similarly, I don’t know as much as I would like to about AI technology, but I am fascinated by Gravyty’s products, and I want to learn more about AI, specifically how it can help with fundraising.

I look forward to working with the team this summer, and am confident that I will gain helpful insight and experience in not just marketing, but also sales and technology from working at Gravyty.
